Cooker Types Explained
Not sure which cooker type you have?
Separate Oven / Hob
With a separate oven and hob, your oven will be fitted into the cupboard front as in the picture to the left, with your hob fitted into a hole in the worktop rather than as part of a larger appliance. In this case, you may only have an oven or hob or you may have both, but they are totally separate appliances and are not linked to each other in any way.
You should select: Electric Oven or Hob (depending on what one is faulty)
Freestanding Cooker
This is a standalone cooker, the whole unit is a single piece and is less than 90cm wide, normally between 50cm-60cm wide.
You should select: Electric Cooker or Dual Fuel Cooker (Depending on what type of hob top it is)
Range Cooker
A range cooker is very similar to a freestanding cooker above, it's just wider. Range cookers are anything from 90cm or wider. A lot of ranges will have more than one oven side by side, but not all of them do.
You should select: Range (Depending on what type of hob top it is)
Our engineers will check the cooker type has been selected correctly while they are on-site so don't worry too much if you have chosen the wrong one, the engineer will advise of this and any changes in the charges for inspection.
